Biondi Comes To Simply Beach

Biondi is a new brand at Simply Beach who offer luxurious beachwear. They have just launched their first range of men’s swimming shorts to fill a much needed gap in the men’s swimwear market. The tailored shorts have been designed exclusively for men who do not want to compromise on beach style while combining excellent fit with stunning prints and colours.

The aim when designing the men’s swimming shorts was to produce a range that was neither baggy nor surfy. This has resulted in a stylish and comfortable short for men.

Claudine Davies, founder of Biondi Couture has used her extensive knowledge as menswear buyer at Harvey Nichols to develop a tailored style which is both comfortable and flattering. The shorts have a small elasticated section on the back which has been designed to give every man a great fit. Plus, a flat front with hidden fastenings flatters all shapes and sizes.

The shorts are made from an outstanding Italian fabric which is soft to the touch, quick drying and most importantly, very durable.

Apple Quietly Reinstate Our Simply Beach App

Simply Beach have had quite a bizarre but good week this week. After Apple took down our Simply Beach App for containing ‘Sexual Content’ last week we have seen a major interest in our story and now Apple have reinstated our App but with no word to us.

Our Managing Director, Gerrard Dennis said “Being fair to Apple, they may have made a genuine mistake taking our app down. However, if that were the case I think an apology would have been nice. We haven’t heard anything from Apple regarding our app, but are obviously very happy to have our family friendly application back and we hope people following this story will download it.”

So as you can see we are very pleased to tell you that the Simply Beach iPhone App is now back up and running to help busy people buying and searching for swimwear much easier.

Apple Take Down The Simply Beach App!

The most bizarre thing has happened today… Apple have removed our Simply Beach iPhone App from iTunes for overly sexual content!

We’re not sure how women in bikinis (not naked) really counts as sexual content. We could totally understand if they were topless shots, but there’s nothing like that on our site; just simply beachwear from reputable brands for you to browse and buy.

For now we have resubmitted the app to Apple with an age restriction which would normally be reserved for sexual content and nudity!

So what do you think… are Apple being unfair to say we have sexual content on our site, or do you think their decision to take our App down was the right one?

Are You Getting The Right Sun Protection?

Do you love sitting out in the sun but are unsure about what SPF sun cream you should be using? Simply Beach have come up with a simple set of rules to help you out this summer.

Before I carry on SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, the higher the SPF the higher the protect from the Suns rays which can damage your skin and have links to skin cancer. Wearing the correct sun cream will protect you from these harmful rays ensuring your safety and comfort on the beach this summer.

If you have dark skin you can get away with the most sun exposure, however you should still wear sun creams to protect you from harmful rays.
For those that have darker skin that tans easily you should be wearing between SPF15 and 25 to reduce damage.
Finally if you are fair skinned individual you will need the strongest sun creams, we recommend that you don't consider going lower than SPF25, ideally 30. This will help ensure you minimise your risk of being burned.

There are so many pluses to wearing sun cream, there is simply no reason not to.

Wearing sun cream will help against ageing, sun burn and uneven skin pigmentation. If applied correctly it will also help you to gain a more even tan.

You may wonder when on holiday why don't the locals wear sun cream? The answer is simple. The locals are used to it, you are much more at risk of skin damage on a typical 2 week holiday abroad than any local who is used to the intense rays.

Also remember to re-apply every hour. Sun cream wears off over time by you movement, sweat and general heat and over a short period of time looses its effectiveness.

The choice not to wear sun cream is yours but you can be sure you should be wearing it.

Look Good In a Bikini

Ever thought when wearing you're 2-piece you look bad? In reality you probably don't.

There are a number of ways you can make yourself look better and feel more confident.

1. Get a tan. When you're on holiday you will get a tan anyway but to ensure you don't turn up looking like a sheet of paper use some fake tan. Doesn't cost much and will make a serious difference to your appearance.

2. Go to the gym. In the weeks leading up to your holiday and when you reveal your bikini and your body to many people you may want to start going to the gym as you will look great and not have to worry about any flabby bits. go about 3 , 4 times a week and if you can fit in once a day thats perfect. You wont have to go for long and it will make a massive difference.

3. On the beach dont plaster yourself with make up because its a one way trip to spot city as your pores will open with the heat and it will just go down hill form there. Mascara will melt too so try clear mascara or even water resistant is good .

4. Get a manicure and pedicure it will look great on the beach and great with your bikini!

Some of the points above you may think are totally irelivent to looking good in a bikini but every detail counts!

Protect Your Skin

Long-term exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays can damage your skin. To protect it, stay out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the rays are at their strongest. And remember that clouds don't block UV rays. Here are some top tips to help you stay safe in the sun.

Seek shade when you're outdoors.

Wear a hat, preferably with a 4-inch brim all around, to effectively cover your face, neck and ears.

Wear long sleeves and long pants, making sure they're made of tightly woven fabrics.

Use sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 every day to help protect against incidental sun exposure; reapply it after swimming or sweating.

Keep in mind that a typical T-shirt has a lower SPF than the American Cancer Society recommends, so you'll still need to apply sunscreen to areas the T-shirt covers.

Be aware that ultraviolet rays generally reflect off water, sand, snow and any light-colored surface, such as concrete; be diligent in applying sunscreen when you're around these surfaces.

Remember that some ultraviolet radiation will penetrate water and windows, so you always need protection.

Avoid indoor sunlamps and tanning beds, since they can be more harmful to your skin than the sun.
